Man From Mexborough Hangs Himself While On Remand

A man charged with the murder of a Polish bakery worker who was found drowned in her bath in South Yorkshire last month has died in jail.

Hossein Abdollahzadeh, 32, of Maple Road, Mexborough, was discovered hanging in his cell in Doncaster prison on Tuesday afternoon.

He had been on remand awaiting trial for killing 30-year-old Agnieszka Dziegielewska from Swinton.

Miss Dziegielewska had moved to the UK from Bialystok, Poland four years ago.

She was found dead in the bathroom of her flat on 28 January.

A prison spokesman said staff had attempted to resuscitate Mr Abdollahzadeh, but had failed.

He was pronounced dead at 1550 BST.
